Sun Life Financial, a Canadian insurance company, has sold its UK life insurance business, Sun Life UK, to Phoenix Group Holdings.
The transaction concerns Sun Life's annuity and life insurance contracts in the United Kingdom. However, the Canadian insurer will retain its stake in the UK subsidiary's payout annuity business.
The transaction is valued at 248 million GBP (307.9 million USD).
