The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) is calling on national and expatriate employees, in both the public and private sectors, to underwrite an unemployment insurance policy before 1 October 2023.
Employees who fail to meet the deadline for registering in the unemployment insurance scheme will be fined 400 AED (109 USD).
The scheme, which was implemented on 1 January 2023, is intended to guarantee social protection for workers who lose their jobs, and to reinforce the labor market in the United Arab Emirates.
