In light of the partnership with the telephony operator, Orange, the insurer AXA inaugurates a new instrument for the management of its fleet, “Fleet Performance”, marketed by Orange Business Services. The system consists in endowing, for a price comprised between 300 and 350 EUR (432 and 504 USD), each vehicle with asatellite-guided positioning case (GPS) which transmits information and data in real time regarding the vehicle's course and the moves.
AXA is proposing to supplement the system with a dynamic prevention service that processes the data of the case in terms of speed and mileage and then transmits them to the insured companies.
Designed to reduce the total loss experience of the motor fleet, the system does not, how-ever, consider the “pay as you drive” principle in force in Great Britain and in Italy and that results in a proportional reduction of the insurance premium.
