Establishment of the Tunisian association of actuarial experts

The Tunisian association of actuarial experts (Association Tunisienne des Experts Actuaires "ATEA") saw the light of day. This initiative aims to promote and structure the actuary's profession in the country.

ATEA will be in charge of improving the relationship of actuaries with insurance companies while ensuring the defense of the corporation's interests.

According to Ghazi Naceur, founding president of the association, the actuarial experts conducted in 2016 the valuation of more than 3.9 billion TND (1.5 billion USD) of technical provisions in life and non-life insurance. This amount accounts for 4% of Tunisia's GDP.

ATEA has concluded partnership agreements with public and private universities, with the objective of making this profession known to future graduates and to highlight the expertise of Tunisian actuaries abroad.
