The Commission plans to enforce the law to increase the contribution of insurance in GDP

Simon Davor, Deputy Commissioner for insurance at the National Insurance Commission (NIC), has stated that the contribution rate of the insurance industry in GDP was of 1.4% in 2013.

In order to raise this figure, NIC plans to develop new products and to focus on the informal sector, currently "completely neglected".

Campaigns to sensitize the public to the need of insurance are inclused in the programme.

S. Davor has also reminded the mandatory nature of insurance for private commercial properties. The Commission implemented, in this effect, a taskforce in charge of inspecting these properties and getting offenders to face up their responsibilities.
