Allianz is planning to purchase part of Generali's French business

The German insurer Allianz would consider purchasing part of the French activities of its Italian competitor Generali. This rumor follows the announcement by Generali, in November 2016, of its intention to withdraw from several markets deemed unattractive.

While speculation is underway, no official announcement has been disclosed yet . Despite the multiple denials, European financial centers have responded favorably to this information.

Let us remind that Generali France recorded a turnover of 11.3 billion EUR (12.3 billion USD) in 2015 with France being Generali's third market, behind Italy and Germany.
