Aviva has announced job cuts of 1500 to 2000 by the year 2010

Within the framework of its move designed to reorganise the services of its Norwich Union subsidiary company, the British insurer Aviva has announced job cuts of 1500 to 2000 by the year 2010 over a total labour force of 18 000 employees in United Kingdom. The group is likely to finalise the transition process towards the adoption of a unique “Aviva” sign in the next two years for its subsidiaries Norwich Union (United Kingdom), Commercial Union Poland (Poland) and Hibernian (Ireland). Only the British motor insurance subsidiary RAC (United Kingdom) and Delta Lloyd (Netherlands) will keep their respective identities.
