Aviva increases the duration of parental leave for its employees

In the course of 2017, Aviva announced granting the same length of parental leave to all of its staff, without any gender reference. Thus, men and women benefit from the same allowance for this type of leave.

This policy came into effect on November 19, 2017 in Canada, France, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Singapore. Aviva's other subsidiaries will follow in 2018.

The particular case of the United Kingdom

According to United Kingdom legislation, the father of a newborn may also claim two weeks of paid paternity leave of 136.78 GBP (82.85 USD) or 90% of his weekly salary.

With Aviva, this period of parental leave can now reach 26 weeks. Moreover, both father and mother can extend the leave by six months.
