AXA to upgrade health insurance in Egypt and Mexico

AXAAXA plans to establish health centers in several emerging countries with the aim to develop a public health care system. The latter shall include a comprehensive care pathway for the insured to access high-quality care at an affordable price.

As it has already done in Columbia, the French group plans to found care centers in Mexico. It is in the latter country that AXA has created a partnership with a Columbian group aiming at setting up two joint ventures. While the first one is to target insurance, the second is to work on the establishment and management of health facilities.

AXA has also established a partnership with the Egyptian government to support the development of a universal health care system. The operation might lead to the launching of health facilities in the country.

The main objective of the French group regarding Egypt and Mexico, is to be able to record a total turnover of 2 billion EUR (2.3 billion USD) in the ten upcoming years. AXA also seeks to totalize 2 million customers for both markets.

Its “International and New market” division comprises several emerging countries among which Malaysia, Nigeria and the Gulf countries. Such a division has recorded a turnover of 1.3 billion EUR (1.5 billion USD) in health insurance in 2018, increasing by 11% compared to 2017.
