Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance gets settled in DIFC

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company, the insurance unit of the US group Berkshire Hathaway, has obtained the agreement of the supervisory authorities to open an office at the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC).

Dedicated to specialty lines, the new entity will cover energy, construction and shipping risks.

It will be run by Alessandro Cerase, former head of energy and engineered risks at AIG.
