Business interruption: AXA summoned to court

AXAA couple of Beaujolais restaurant owners, David Genillon and Valérie Nassi, have summoned their insurer AXA before the Lyon Commercial Court on 3 June 2020.

According to the plaintiffs, AXA refused to cover the business interruption losses of their restaurant. The establishment in question, "Le Bacchus", ceased to operate on 14 March 2020.

For the French insurance group, the contract underwritten by the policyholders does not present any contested interpretation. For the record, AXA was required on 22 May 2020 to compensate a Parisian restaurant owner "Stéphane Manigold", president of the Eclore group, for the same reasons.
