Carte vitale (Vital card): watch out for fraudulent e-mails

Attempts to phishing and hacking personal data is anything but over in France. Ameli, the health insurance site has warned Internet users against fraudulent forms sent to policyholders to offer them a new “carte vitale”. Policyholders have been reminded that they must not, under any circumstances, communicate their personal data, medical information, social security number, and certainly not their bank details.

The health insurance company denied the existence of the new card and said that it never asks for personal information by mail.
