China is getting insured against earthquakes

China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) and China Earthquake administration (CEA) have agreed to put in place an earthquake insurance system. This partnership is aimed at reducing State expenses in the event of earthquakes.

For the record, in May 2016, forty Chinese insurers and five reinsurers set up a consortium called China Earthquakes Catastrophe Insurance Pool (CECIP), dedicated to the insurance of earthquake risks.
