Lebanon: Collapse of the premiums generated by orange card

The premiums generated by the orange card system collapsed during the first semester of 2012. The overall written premiums amounted to 947 000 USD during this period compared to 1.53 million USD a year before (-38%).

The situation in Syria accounts greatly for these results, disrupting traffic not only between Lebanon and Syria but also between Lebanon and other Arab countries.

For the entire year 2011, 2.4 million USD of premiums were reported. Lebanon joined the orange card system in 2001.
