Collision damage insurance holders will soon be directly compensated
The Algerian union of insurance and reinsurance companies (UAR) is in the process of finalizing an agreement allowing the holders of collision insurance covers to benefit from systematic and direct compensation, on the same principle as the " comprehensive coverage". The agreement called direct indemnity of the insured (IDA) should be signed by the companies of the industry before the end of 2017.
Thanks to the new provision, the victims' files will no longer be subject to appeal. The insurance companies will proceed to the mutual reorganization of the refund files after compensating the insured.
According to Brahim Djamel Kessali, president of the UAR, a project of a computerized platform for notified claims is also under consideration. This project must be accompanied by the establishment of a national driver file in order to facilitate the processing of files and the census of drivers involved in an excessive number of accidents.
