Compulsory insurance for notaries

Moroccan notaries are now required to underwrite a professional liability insurance. This requirement had already been mentioned in the publication of the law regulating the profession in 2011. However, the coverage level was not defined. The decision of the ministry of justice has been, therefore, designed to offset this gap by decreeing a guarantee threshold of 5 million MAD (593 700 USD).
