Covid-19 insurance for foreigners going to Thailand

travel insuranceThe Thai authorities are planning to launch an insurance policy for foreign travelers.

The new Covid-19 policy will be marketed at the end of September 2020. It is expected to cover up to 3.2 million THB (106 000 USD) of medical treatment fees as well as death-related expenses (body repatriation, funeral expenses) for the same amount.

The premium would be between:

  • 1 600 THB (53.22 USD) and 14 400 THB (479 USD) for low-risk countries
  • 2 560 THB (85.15 USD) and 23 040 THB (766 USD) for medium-risk countries
  • 4 800 THB (159.6 USD) and 43 200 THB (1 436 USD) for high-risk countries
