Decline of China's GDP in the first quarter of 2020

statisticsTo stop the spread of the Coronavirus, China had to take drastic measures and deploy significant resources to fight the pandemic. Between January and February 2020, industries and administrations had to cease all activities.

These measures had an impact on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the world's second largest economy. For the first time since 1992, China recorded a decline in its GDP.

At the end of March 2020, the latter fell by 6.8% compared to the same period in 2019.
