Earthquake insurance rising steadily

The number of earthquake insurance policies sold by the five main Japanese insurers has increased by 17.5% between March 2011 and January 2012. This means that an additional 5.5 million policies were underwritten by policyholders. This coverage has been annexed to the fire policy proposed. It may be purchased upon the renewal of the master policy or added in the course of the year. Insurers also provide a motor coverage in the event of tsunami or earthquake. The success of such a formula is very limited as it is hardly known by the public.
