Extensive curfew: first time in Quebec

canadaOn Saturday 9 January 2021, a curfew from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. has been set throughout Quebec. Such measure which aims to reduce the spread of Covid-19, has never been established before in the Canadian province.

For nearly eight generations Quebec has never known an extensive curfew even in times of grave crisis (war, epidemic, etc.).

The health situation has become alarming in Canada since November 2020. On November 15, more than 5 000 contaminations in 24h were recorded with a peak of 10 209 cases on 2 January 2021.
