Fire risk remains very high in seismic zones in Turkey

bouche d'incendieEarthquake-induced fires are as severe as earthquakes themselves. With nearly 98% of petrochemical plants located in seismic zones, Turkey is particularly exposed to severe damage caused by possible earthquakes.

This finding is made by Abdurrahman Kilic, fire expert and member of the Turkish foundation for fire protection (TUYAK).

According to A. Kilic, only 40% of factories ravaged by flames in recent years in Turkey are covered by a fire insurance policy. For the expert, the State should make compulsory the insurance of factories and hotels.
