France’s most-liked companies

companiesAccording to a survey conducted by Ifop for Eight Advisory and unveiled by the Sunday newspaper, Décathlon, already ranked first in 2019, remains the most popular company for the French in 2020. Peugeot and EDF rank second and third respectively among France’s 50 most-liked companies.

The study, conducted on approximatively 3 000 citizens, is based on six criteria: The company's impact on the French economy, its involvement in environmental issues, its ability to provide innovative products, its capacity to improve the daily lives of the French, its ability to give a good image of France and encourage people to work there.

Although the coronavirus has favoured the everyday-life stakeholders which are ranked in the top 10, the travel, tourism and air transport sectors, have sustained great losses due to the pandemic. Aéroports de Paris (ADP) for instance, went from the 27th to the 46th position in one year: the most significant drop in the ranking.

Similarly, the financial sector does not seem to have attracted the French in 2020. The bank Crédit Agricole is ranked 47th and insurance giants such as AXA do not figure in France’s most-liked companies.
