Good performance for SCG-Ré in 2017
The Société Commerciale Gabonaise de Réassurance (SCG–Ré) has published its financial results ending December 31st, 2017.
The Gabonese reinsurer reported a net result of 1.21 billion FCFA (2.02 million USD) against 569.7 million FCFA (916 077 USD) in 2016, that is an increase of 111.6%. The technical result amounted to 3.57 billion FCFA (5.97 million USD) compared to 2.83 billion FCFA (4.55 million USD).
The turnover followed this same upward trend to reach 12.27 billion FCFA (20.53 million USD) versus 11.3 billion FCFA (18.17 million USD) in 2016, a rise of 9%.
The incurred losses rose by 2.15 billion FCFA (3.6 million USD), going from 4.19 billion FCFA (6.74 million USD) in 2016 to 6.34 billion FCFA (10.61 million USD) one year later. The combined ratio worsened by eleven points, from 77% to 88%.
The shareholder's equities amounted to 8.11 billion FCFA (13.57 million USD) compared to 7.54 billion FCFA (12.12 million USD) in 2016, recording thus an increase of more than 7%.
