Health insurance is compulsory for travelers entering Dubai

Originally scheduled for early 2014, the new law requiring residents and travelers entering Dubai to hold health insurance is effective as of December 2013. The law requires anyone entering or living in the emirate to hold health insurance whose price varies depending on the length of stay.
The visa will not be possible without such prior insurance. Residents will also be required to have health coverage issued by their employer. Nearly 2 million people would benefit from this new guarantee. Expatriates and their relatives are equally targeted by this measure.
