How does the London insurance market react to a major catastrophe?

In late October, the London insurance market conducted a test aimed at evaluating the quality of its response to a major catastrophe similar to the attacks of September 11, 2001 or to hurricane Katrina.

In order to analyze such a scenario, insurers and brokers will meet during the two weeks following October 30 to plan the responses that will be provided to policyholders and analyze the impact of the catastrophe on their capital.

The London market is one of the main insurance centers for the coverage of natural catastrophe risks.
