Hurricane Dorian likely to cost insurers 25 billion USD

Ouragan DorianDorian, the second-most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the North Atlantic, devastated the Bahamas, killing at least five people and damaging more than 13 000 homes.

The hurricane is likely to cause more damage in the coming days. On his way to Florida, he will move to the east coast of the United States where the damage could be considerable. According to some estimates, the insured damages would range between 15 and 25 billion USD.
