Hurricane Sandy will affect AIG up to 1.3 billion USD

Following the passage of hurricane Sandy, American insurer, AIG, has estimated its after-tax loss at a minimum of 1.3 billion USD. Its competitors, Travelers and Allstate are forecasting losses of respectively 650 million USD and 1.08 billion USD. The total losses covered by insurers are likely to amount to 25 billion USD.
