Increase of insurers’ minimum paid-up capital

Zambian authorities have submitted a new bill to the government, proposing an increase in the minimum paid-up capital from 200 000 USD to 2 000 000 USD.

This measure provides insurers with a one year period to comply with this requirement. Capital increase is likely to trigger a simultaneous increase of insurance companies’ retention.
