JLT acquires majority stake in Insure Direct

British broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT) has acquired a majority stake in Insure Direct, an intermediary specialized in direct insurance. Insure Direct has subsidiaries in Dubai, Bahrain and Qatar. This transaction requires the approval of regulatory authorities. The agreement provides for a strategic long-term partnership with Istithmar World, the investment arm of Dubai World.
