Lance Armstrong sued by an American insurer

The American insurer SCA Promotions has asked Lance Armstrong to refund the premiums paid to him for having won his seven Tour de France races. Following initial rumors of doping, SCA had already refused to allow the rider the bonus due in 2006.

After a judicial recourse, Lance Armstrong had finally prevailed. On February 7, 2013, SCA Promotions filed a complaint against former champion who had been officially deprived of his titles since October 12, 2012. The insurer is seeking a 7.5 million USD refund in bonuses paid and 5 million USD in damages.
