Launch of a reform program for the insurance industry

The chairman of the general insurance committee announced on January 27, 2015 the launch of a reform plan in insurance.
The project, set to continue until 2019, is designed to upgrade the regulatory framework currently in force so as to meet the international standards.

The notion of transparency will be essential to this process aimed at promoting healthy structures and expanding the range of products offered on the market.

Insurance companies will be called upon to modernize their management, increase their capital and encourage the introduction of new technologies.
The authorities will also set up a mediation body in charge of monitoring and dispute settlement.
