More than 75% of Moroccan employees lack health coverage

health insurance coverageAccording to a study published by the High Planning Commission (HCP), only 24.7% of Moroccan workers benefit from a work-related health insurance coverage in 2020 against 24.1% in 2019.

The percentage of working people with health insurance coverage grows along with the level of education. This rate ranges from 10.7% for workers without a diploma to 78.8% for those with a higher education degree.

The results of the survey also indicate that 24.1% of the working population is covered by a pension system. This rate of pension affiliation is slightly higher for women (27.5%) than for men (23.1%).
