National Bank of Canada and Amethis Finance enter the NSIA’s capital

The national bank of Canada (BNC) and the investment fund dedicated to Africa "Amethis Finance" have acquired the stakes held in the capital of NSIA by Emerging Capital Partners, a US investment fund.

Following this transaction which is expected to be finalized between May and July 2015, BNC and Amethis will respectively control 20.9% and 5.4% of the capital of the Pan African group.
With total assets of 214 billion USD as at January 31, 2015, BNC and its subsidiaries form one of Canada's largest financial groups. BNC employs over 20 000 people and its shares are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Created in 1995, the NSIA Group has successfully developed an African financial services network based on the concept of bancassurance.
NSIA which is headquartered in Abidjan has subsidiaries and insurance branches in 12 African countries. The group has 1 500 employees and 1 500 exclusive agents.
