New travel insurance covers are being established in Europe

Following the eruption of the Eyjafjöll volcano, some insurers have launched new products. That is the case of Europ Assistance which proposes a cover named “impossible return”. This offer is designed to cover the traveller against an exceptional event preventing their return home at the expected time. The cause has to be justified, beyond his will and unknown upon departure. The British company Flybe is proposing to its clients a similar cover for the sum of 8 EUR (10.2 USD) per passenger. This plan is, however, restricted to delays caused by volcanic eruptions.
