Partial 2012 results

According to authorities, the total amount of non-life losses, which attained 14.4 billion KES (175 million USD), increased by 17% during the first half of 2012. Settled claims amounted to 7.88 billion KES (96 million USD), an increase of 2%. Premiums collected during the first six months increased by 23.7% to 55 billion KES (668 million USD). The non-life market accounts for 66.5% of the contributions while life insurance represents 33.5%. Reinsurance companies have collected 4.73 billion KES (57 million USD) of premiums, that is, 26.8% more than during the same period of 2011.
