Raphael Carvalho, new CEO of IRB-Brasil Re

Raphael Afonso Godinho de Carvalho has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IRB-Brasil Re. He succeeds Wilson Toneto, acting CEO since March 2021. The appointment takes effect on 1 October 2021.

R. Carvalho is a graduate of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Kellogg School of management and Harvard Business School. Both of these latter educational institutions are based in the United States.

Prior to his recent appointment, R. Carvalho had served as MetLife's CEO for Brazil and Colombia since 2015.
