Middle East, road accidents in the Arab world claim the lives of 40 000 people annually

According to the Arab Road Safety Organisation , road accidents caused the death of about 13 000 people in Egypt, 4000 in Saudi Arabia, 2000 in Algeria and 1400 in Tunisia.

In Algeria, the material damage caused by traffic accidents are estimated at 100 billion DZD (932 million USD) per year.

In Saudi Arabia, insurance companies paid 20 billion SAR ( 5.3 billion USD), over the last three years, to compensate the motor insurance claims.

To counter the increase in casualties as well as the rise in repair costs, the motor insurance tariffs are poised to undergo a significant rise in the entire region.
