Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance: AM Best rating

AM Best has rated Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance (RSAI), the principal operating subsidiary of Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Group (RSA), with an A (Excellent) financial strength and "a+" long-term credit rating.

AM Best justifies its decision based on the UK company's strong balance sheet, strong operating performance, neutral business profile and good enterprise risk management. The balance sheet strength reflects RSA's capital quality, conservative investment portfolio and strong liquidity.

The rating also takes into consideration the support of parent organization Intact Financial Corporation (IFC).
