Sanlam Kenya, decreasing net result for the third consecutive year

Sanlam Kenya, a subsidiary of the South African insurer Sanlam, ended the year 2016 with a a provisional net result falling by 25% compared to 2015. This is the third consecutive loss making year for the insurer.

The 2016 decline would be due to the depreciation of the portfolio's shares value, the regression of life business and the increase in expenses.

Sanlam is however optimistic about the year 2017. According to the company, the investments made in recent years, will begin to generate positive results starting from the current year.
