Saudi Arabia targeted by numerous cyber attacks
Saudi Arabia would have sustained nearly 60 million cyber-attacks in 2015, making it the most targeted country in the Middle East. The special status of the country, its political, financial and security role in the region are factors that explain this phenomenon.
The Saudi government along with public enterprises account for the bulk of the attempts of hackers. The sectors of energy, finance and telecommunication are also affected. Saudi Aramco is one of the companies that has suffered the highest number of attacks worldwide.
