Senegalese life insurance growing stronger in 2010

Premiums collected by the Senegalese life insurers have grown by 19.2% in 2010. The turnover rose from 16.581 billion FCFA (36.9 million USD) in 2009 to 19.761 billion FCFA (40.7 million USD) in 2010.
AMSA Vie and NSIA Vie experienced the highest growth rates with respectively 81% at 4.337 billion FCFA (9 million USD) and 64% at 1.877 billion FCFA ( 4 million USD) and with AMSA Vie ranking first in the market.
Allianz Vie is the only company to post a negative trend (-14%) in 2010 at 3.819 billion FCFA (7.8 million USD). Six companies are sharing the Senegalese life insurance market.
