Softbank willing to enter Swiss Re's capital

The Japanese holding company Softbank is in talks with the world's largest reinsurer, Swiss Re, to acquire 20 to 30% of its capital.

The information was unveiled on Monday, February 19, by the British newspaper Financial Times. The same source specifies that a 30% stake would amount to 10 billion CHF (10.79 billion USD), excluding goodwill and other premiums.

 Note that the Swiss reinsurer's equity amounted to 35.634 billion USD at 31 December 2016.
