The 42nd General Assembly of FANAF, day two

The digital transformation of insurance was much debated during the second day of the 42nd General Assembly of FANAF.

Insurers should be quick to create online services and design products that meet the changing needs of customers. The dematerialization of insurance poses a competitive challenge for traditional companies. "Independent electronic platforms now offer more attractive services at competitive prices".

During the second panel on the intermediary trade, some speakers expressed their concern about the future of the profession. According to them, insurance comparators and electronic portals threaten the survival of this activity. Other experts have nevertheless rejected this hypothesis. According to them, the traditional brokerage business is not threatened. "The fundamental role of the intermediary is not to sell but rather to advise and support the insured," justifies one of the panelists.

The speakers did not fail to recall the lack of a regulatory framework that defines the intermediary's business in the CIMA zone.
