The market turnover in 2005

The total turnover achieved in 2005 by Benin's insurance market amounts to 20 billion FCFA (39.9 million USD), 80% of which are for the property business. Governed by the Association des Sociétés d'Assurance (ASA Benin), the market which employs 279 staff members accounts for 10 operators half of whom are dispatched to the life insurance while the other half deals with property business. As to the Association des Courtiers d'Assurance (ACAB), it gathers 9 certified brokers.
