U.S. Congress: Manufacturer and regulator responsible for the Boeing 737 MAX crisis

737 maxOn Wednesday 16 September 2020, the House Transportation Com-mittee released its report on the Boeing 737 MAX.

The document indi-cates that the deaths of the 346 victims of Lion Air and Ethiopian Air-lines were caused by serious engineering defects, mismanagement of Boeing and a major lack of oversight by the Aviation Regulator (FAA).

Following the report's release, the U.S. Congress has expressed its hope that the example of the 737 MAX will serve as a lesson to aircraft manufacturers who engage in such fierce competition that they sometimes forget that the lives of innocent people are at stake.
