U.S. Congress: Manufacturer and regulator responsible for the Boeing 737 MAX crisis

737 maxOn Wednesday 16 September 2020, the House Transportation Committee released its report on the Boeing 737 MAX.

The document indicates that the deaths of the 346 victims of Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines were caused by serious engineering defects, mismanagement of Boeing and a major lack of oversight by the Aviation Regulator (FAA).

Following the report's release, the U.S. Congress has expressed its hope that the example of the 737 MAX will serve as a lesson to aircraft manufacturers who engage in such fierce competition that they sometimes forget that the lives of innocent people are at stake.
