Africa Re: Ephraim Kiiza Bichetero promoted to Substantive Deputy Managing Director and COO

Ephraim Kiiza Bichetero, Substantive Deputy Managing Director (DMD) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Africa Re, took up his new position on 1 July 2025 after a twelve-month transition and succession program with outgoing DMD/COO Kenneth Edirin Napoleon Aghoghovbia.

E. Bichetero was elected to this position on 1 July 2024.

A Ugandan national, E. Bichetero joined Africa Re in June 2004 as Underwriter at the Group's regional office in Nairobi (Kenya), then as Senior Underwriter, Assistant Director in charge of Technical Operations, Deputy Regional Director and Regional Director of the Nairobi office.

The new DMD/COO is a graduate of Makerere University in Kampala (Uganda) and the United States International University in Nairobi (Kenya). He is also a graduate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) in London, UK.
