Agricultural insurance, keystone of agricultural development

Speaking at a seminar on agricultural insurance, held by the Caisse Nationale de la Mutalité Agricole (CNMA), the minister of agriculture, rural development and fisheries Abdelkader Bouazghi said that agricultural insurance remains hardly developed in Algeria, despite the country's strong potential.

This is due to the farmers' lack of involvement in insurance services that remain quite dependent on credit granting conditions.
