Algerian insurance market: provisional results 2021

The National Insurance Council (CNA) published the provisional results of the Algerian market in 2021. After the year 2020 which was strongly impacted by the pandemic, the turnover of all local insurers is likely to rise by 4.3% reaching 144.1 billion DZD (1.03 billion USD).

As of 31 December 2021, non-life premiums were estimated at 133.3 billion DZD (955.5 million USD), that is, a 5.8% growth over one year. Life and health insurance, on the other hand, is expected to show a 10.8% decrease in premium income in 2021, to be set at 10.8 billion DZD (77.42 million USD).
