Arig is reassessing its claims reserves

The reinsurer Arig has disclosed its results for the first half of 2011. Net loss amounted to 4.1 million USD, compared to 2.8 million USD over the same period in 2010. This deterioration is due to an increase in claims reserves caused by the civil commotions that have affected the Arab countries. The gross premium volume amounted to188.9 million USD for the first six months of the year, that is, an increase of 6.7% over the same period in 2010.
