Thomas Blunck, 61, has been appointed to lead Munich Re’s property and casualty (P&C) reinsurance business in Europe and Latin America, following Clarisse Kopff’s departure on 31 October 2026.
The appointment will take effect on 1 November 2026.
Blunck will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the German group’s reinsurance division.
A graduate of the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, Blunck joined Munich Re in 1999 and has held various leadership positions over the course of his 27-year career with the group.
